Beautiful Camo iPhone 4S Case
Before deciding to purchase this case, I was debating on whether to buy the exact same case but with the hunter's orange. I finally decided on the black/camo version because I thought the hunter's orange would start to become irritating to look at all the time! I could not be happier with my decision. The realtree camo looks amazing in person. The level of detail is great, and it is actually part of the silicon (not a sticker!). This case is everything I wanted to protect my new iPhone 4S.
The construction is solid. The hard-shell case clips together perfectly, and the rubber silicon cover that goes around the hard plastic fits like a glove. Be warned, this case is not easy to assemble and disassemble. This case will probably annoy someone who wants to change out cases on the fly. However, I really enjoy this about the case because it feels solid and seamless. I don't have to worry about it coming apart for any reason, or the silicon from slipping off from around the hard-shell. Then again, I'm not one of those people who change cases to go out to the bar/club. The feel is solid, and I do not worry about my $600 phone breaking from everyday drops. It feels like I could throw it at a wall and it would be just fine (though I will not testing this!). The case nearly doubles the depth of your phone, but consider what it's protecting.
I've read that people experience problems with other Otterbox Defender series because the cover over the 30pin charging port will not stay closed. I have not had any problems with any port covers not staying closed as they should. I was worried about the screen cover taking away from the ease of the touch screen, but I cannot tell a difference. Before buying, I was also worried about the silicon being really sticky in my pocket, but it surprisingly slides with ease in/out of pockets; I cannot put it on my dash and expect it to stay in place like the cover on my last phone. Despite others commenting on the Defender series for the iPhones, the hole near the headphone jack is not off center. The hole is for the noise cancelling mic and not the headphone jack! Simply lift the headphone jack cover and plug in your headphones. Furthermore, all the buttons covered on the case feel and function great. Finally, this case will not conflict with your camera because it is designed for the 4S.
Overall, I would give this case 4.8 out of 5, only because the case is difficult to assemble and disassemble. This case is solid, functional, and beautiful. I find myself flipping it over on my desk just so I can admire and show off the camo pattern.-- By jhinsonx72
