Photographing with the Sony Alpha, Like a Pro

Photographing with the Sony Alpha, Like a Pro

Technosian - Sony Indonesia serious in the competitive DSLR type of digital camera products. This is further demonstrated by the issuance of new generation digital SLR camera products that Alpha 55 and Alpha 33.Alpha 55 and Alpha 33 can be said is a product that looks more compact but has the amenities that make users can produce photos that are not less good.
"Alpha 55 and Alpha 33 carry the latest technology from Sony. Equipped with Mirror Traslucent technology, present a variety of new functions that were previously quite difficult to be presented on a DSLR camera," says Danu Sagoro, Product Marketing Sony Alpha Digital Imaging in Media Gathering event, in Taman Impian Jaya Ancol, North Jakarta, Wednesday (02/23/2011).

This product is replacing a mirror box which is used in conventional digital SLR cameras with a mirror box that contains a translucent mirror, so that is no longer needed a mirror that opens the lid as used in DSLR cameras today. In other words, the object can be recorded by the image sensor and sensor auto focus without having to wait for the mirror lifted each pressing the camera shutter.

With this technology, users can capture an object moving at ten frames per second recording (Sony Alpha 55) and seven frames per second (Sony Alpha 33). Translucent Mirror technology is maximized with fifteen points focus on the sensor. Making these products can operate with a stable auto focus function that quickly and accurately when doing Full HD movie recording.

Sony Alpha 55 and Alpha 33 uses APS Exmor HD CMOS sensor as the image sensor. It can capture images up to 16.2 megapixels at 55 and 14.2-megapixel Alpha on Alpha 33. This sensor makes the two products could reduce noise while using a high ISO.
One of the facilities that can be used to reduce noise is a multi-frame automatic, where the camera is recording the object with six frames at once and then combine them into one frame. Kompas.com the chance to try out this facility to get the images with very little noise even when using ISO 25 600.

Camera Alpha 55 and Alpha 33 is also equipped with facilities AUTO + in which the camera can analyze the object and shooting conditions. So photographers need not fear getting the picture that is too dark (under exposure) or too bright (over exposure).

"To meet the needs of users of the Sony Alpha cameras. We also have complete supporting accessories like a telephoto lens, wide, and the fish eye," says Danu Sagoro. From the search results Kompas.com, special lens Sony Alpha DSLR camera is quite varied. It could even be said complete with varied options. Cisco-Linksys Wireless-N Internet Home Monitoring Camera

You can buy this same wireless cam refurbished--it's cheaper and it's a perfectly fine cam, same as a brand new one. People return it because they are having trouble setting it up. The way i see it, they will have the same trouble if they buy from another brand. Products like this has essentially the same technical requirement and knowledge. So if you are not in IT, you might want to get your IT friend to help.

Most of the difficulty will come from port-forwarding, or dynamic dns, or motion detection/email/ftp.

1) Port-forwarding. If you have a Linksys wireless router, this cam can automatically setup the wireless router for you. You will need port-forwarding so you can view your cam from anywhere on the internet. If your wireless router is not a Linksys, most of other router can do port-forwarding. help: google port-forwarding

2) Dynamic dns. You don't have to use TZO as your dynamic dns server, it cost $$ after 3 month of free usage. Sign up a free account at dyndns.org, and use your wireless router instead of the wireless cam to update your dynamic dns (if your wireless router supports it). Once you are done, use
[...] to see your cam on the internet.

3) Motion detection:
a)you can set up sensitivity area, so the cam can monitor only part of the picture for motion detection
b) Email: setting up SMTP server is tricky. If you use hotmail or yahoo mail, you probably need to use your WHOLE email name to login instead of just the username. I kept getting "fail to send email" when doing "test email". Later I used my own SMTP server and it worked fine.
c) ftp: find one of the free online storage service (usually give you 1GB free space), MAKE SURE they support FTP upload.

4) I don't use the desktop utilities. I prefer getting an email with motion detection.

Now that everything's setup, I got an email with 5 second video clip every time UPS guys came deliver my stuff, or the neighborhood kid who try to steal my goodies.

Awesome.

Sony Bloggie Touch (MHS-TS20/B) Digital Camera

Sony Bloggie Touch (MHS-TS20/B) - 8 GB, 4 Hours NEWEST MODEL (Black)

I've had this camera for about a week now and have been loving it ever since. I've used another "flip" camcorder and the Bloggie Touch puts it to shame.

Pros:
1. Love the quick on and record. Great for spontaneous videos of the little one.
2. The touch screen interface makes it both useful and fun to use the big screen.
3. The still pictures come out brilliant, when the lighting and focus is good.
4. The battery charges up super fast and stays with you for a whole day of shooting.
5. The image stabilization is good. You can take decent video while walking around and panning too. Note that it is not optical, but electronic SteadyShot stabilization.
6. The lens is very good quality and the pictures are crisp.
7. Really like the "snap picture while recording" feature. I find myself using that feature the most. The video doesn't stall while the picture (full 12M resolution) is being taken and since the focus and exposure are usually locked well while you're in the middle of the video, the pictures come out great.

Cons:
1. In low lighting, there is quite a bit of graininess and using the digital zoom makes it much worse.
2. While the lens is good quality, the auto-focus mechanism is really very slow. If you move around the camera too much before focus has locked on, the auto-focus will almost never lock.
3. What I really miss with this camera is a flash. Even a tiny one would help with low light pictures.
4. Minor annoyance: to preview a picture right after you take it, you have to go through at least two clicks. Sony could have designed it so that it always goes to the last picture taken by default, instead of the thumbnail list of all pictures/video on the device.

I decided to purchase this camera over a still camera that can do video because:
1. This one is dead simple. One button to turn on, one to take video and one to take stills. This makes it both easy and quick to use.
2. This one can do 1080p video and 720p at 60fps.
3. Its under $200 and is smaller than your phone.
4. Its got internal flash and USB connector - no more SD cards or cables. 8GB is enough to get you through the day before you can come back to your laptop to dump the pictures.

I decided to purchase this camera over other ones in the same category because:
1. Its got a big display and the touch screen is fun to use.
2. Its got a better lens system than the others.
3. Its got (some) image stabilization.
