B. Design and Body

Holds the Xperia S has a different feel than other smartphones. The use of materials on the body is like the coating with a special material feels a bit like holding a soft foam material, but a little rough. To grip pretty well, although large in size but still good grip. Body is quite thick and slightly curvy to make the grip feel more secure than holding other smartphone measuring 4.3 inches.

This smartphone has the dimensions 128 x 64 x 10.6mm and weighs about 144 grams is that, as a comparison of HTC Sensation XE weighs 151 grams and Samsung Galaxy S II weighs 116 grams.
The front, on the top right corner there is a resolution of 1.3 MP camera and in the middle of SONY logo there under the logo is there to listen to the speaker out when making phone calls. At the bottom of the screen are three touch buttons back, home and menu. In addition there is a transparent list that can be lit as a sign of the notification. At the center of the bottom of the XPERIA logo emboss.

C. Display

Xperia's screen size 4.3 inches with the type of LED-Backlit LCD with HD resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. In the brightness and sharpness of the screen is a level better than the usual types of LCD screens on other smartphones, bright screen is like Nova's LG Display is very bright, but about the quality of the colors still seem a little yellowish, especially when viewed from a narrow perspective or oblique . Please refer to comparisons the iPhone 4's screen with Xperia S and Galaxy Nexus at the time of opening google website a white background, white backgrounds look a little pale yellowish displayed.

D. Interface

Xperia S still relies Timescape UI like on Android phones from Sony Ericsson previously. On the home screen there are 5 pages and can be customized according to user preferences, you can change themes, wallpapers, add widgets, shortcuts and applications. There are seven themes which you can choose the Silk, Turquoise, Emerald, Sapphire, Gold, Ruby and Amethyst. Transfer from page to screen quite smoothly despite the many widgets are installed.

E. Text Input

For the method of inputting text can only use the default keyboard called the Xperia keyboard. In addition to a full QWERTY keyboard, the Xperia keyboard also supports keyboard in Japanese and Chinese. Setting full QWERTY keyboard phone is quite complete, there are some features such as Automatic space, Quick fixes, Gesture input (like Swype), and others. Xperia's keyboard size in landscape or portrait position is quite large and fairly easy to use.

F. Contacts

Phonebook menu on the phone is quite complete as hi-end Android smartphone others. You can synchronize your contacts with your Gmail, Facebook, Twitter and import of your sim card. Contacts view displays arranged by the alphabet and be large enough to look clearer and easier to contact.

At the top there is the search field, you simply type in the letters or the name of the contact you want to look for to speed up access. To the right of the search field there is a button to add a new contact. On the right side there is a slider bar that serves as a quick shortcut to access the contacts on a particular alphabet that you want. At the bottom there is a shortcut to access the Phone and Favorites directly from the Contacts menu. Contact details can be added very complete, as hi-end Android smartphone others.

H. Camera and Video Recorder

Xperia S comes complete with a 12 MP camera with LED Flash. In the camera menu there is the option to choose Scenes such as Landscape, Night Portrait, Sports, Potrait, Night scene, Beach and snow and party. In addition you can also adjust image sizes ranging from 2 MP ratio of 4:3, 2 MP ratio of 16:9, 16:9 ratio 9 MP and 12 MP 4:3 ratio.

There are 5 Focus modes to choose from, among others, single autofocus, the Multi autofocus, Face detection, Touch Infinity and focus. Besides that we have already mentioned there are several features such as Smile Detection, ISO setting, White balance, Exposure value, Self-timer and other features.
The results of the camera in good light conditions would be very nice, images look very sharp and very bright colors are produced either by size 9 MP and 12 MP. Photo shoot with a macro mode produces images that are very good and very satisfying. The photos outdoor, indoor, macro and flash of the Xperia S can produce sharp images and quality. The camera's main weapon is ready to subvert Xperia smartphone similar in its class. Including rapid image capture, pause / lag that occurs only for a moment only, but not as fast as Galaxy Nexus can be equated with the Sensation XE.

Video Recorder
Xperia's main camera can record video in Full HD 1080p quality while the front camera can record video in 720p HD quality only. In the settings are not too different camera settings, there is a choice Scenes, video size, focus mode, self timer, and so forth.
Video recordings produced by Xperia S has a mp4 format with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and has 29 frames per second. Full HD video throughout the 32 seconds has a size of 54 MB. Very good video recordings, microphonenya able to capture sound with good and clear, image quality was bright and sharp. When the phone is moving fast enough, no skip frames or lag occurs. Cameras and video cameras really become a major weapon Xperia S.

I. Gallery, Video and Music

Gallery photo's have a look at the Xperia with Android standard view 3D effect, the photos displayed by category. One of the advantages Xperia S is the Bravia Engine technology embedded Mobile in the gallery, so the quality of the image or video is more optimized and looks better, we feel this is the same when comparing the photo in Gallery Xperia S and on the computer. To activated the Mobile Bravia Engine you can just go into phone settings and choose the option screen. In addition the gallery's Xperia is pretty much perfect Integrate with multiple applications or connectivity, so you can directly from the gallery to share via Bluetooth, Gmail, Facebook, Google +, Twitter, Picasa, WhatsApp, Messaging and more

Video player on this phone has a simple display. Video can be accessed through the Gallery just because there is no menu Video Player on the Xperia S. Video player capable of playing 720p video with mp4 format, and indeed the resulting picture quality thanks to Bravia Engine support is pretty good and has excellent contrast, making colors appear brighter. Plus S Xperia screen has a resolution high enough, so any video that is playing is sharp. For other than mp4 format, we had tried to incorporate video with mkv and avi format. Mkv format video to be played but did not detect the subtitle file srt bia, while the avi format can not be played at all. Xperia S is a little short this phone does not have good audio quality, the sound is a fruit of the speakers at the back of the phone sounds a bit too sharp and shrill at high volume.

On the whole menu on Xperia Gallery Gallery S the same as the standard Android on other devices, the only difference being Bravia Engine technology and the sharpness of the screen that supports the quality of the image or video

Music PlayersThe music player has a nice view. Divided into two pages, ie pages and My Music Playing. Playing page contains information on the current track or the last played, album cover art there, the information (title, singer and album) songs, and the navigation buttons in the form of play, next and back. In the bottom corner there is a minute walking track and total track length. On the page My Music there are 6 categories: Tracks, Albums, Artists, Playlists, SensMe channels, and My Favorites Playlist

The music player is also fully equipped with the Equalizer settings. Users can select some settings that are available a case of Jazz, Rock, Pop, Unique, Soul, Bass Boost, etc.. In addition users can also set your own equalizer to your taste (custom equalizer). In the music player embedded xLOUD technologies that make the resulting sound is more powerful if it is enabled

Appearance and function of music player on the Xperia's good but unfortunately we think the sound quality is not very good, audio comes out sounding a bit too sharp and shrill at high volume.

J. Browser

Browser Xperia S has a casual look like Android. On the home page there is a column for the website address and next to it there is a shortcut to get to the Bookmarks, Most visited, and History. Browser Xperia S is equipped with a flash player so that the flash content can be run. Total pages / tabs that can be opened simultaneously is 8 pages. Settings in your browser settings just like other Android devices.

K. Connectivity

GSM / HSDPA
Wi-Fi 802.11 b / g / n, Wi-Fi Direct, DLNA, Wi-Fi hotspot
Bluetooth v2.1 with A2DP, EDR
Micro USB 2.0
GPS, A-GPS
NFC
HDMI Output (separate cable)

L. Default Applications

LiveWare ManagerThis application is useful for connecting devices like Xperia S with a headset or charger. With this application you can set when the headset is plugged the phone will automatically recognize and headed to the FM Radio feature. It depends on what features you apply to this application, you can customize the applications that you apply to LiveWare Manager.
Office SuitePhone default office applications can be used to open office documents like excel, ppt, word, and pdf. Unfortunately the application of this office can not be used to edit and create new office documents.

Power SaverThis application is a battery saver application to make your own arrangements, you can adjust the power safer profile according to your wishes.

M. Benchmarking

Quadrant Standard: 3177 pointsNeocore: 59.4 FPSLinpack: 49.99 MFLOPS / 1.68 secondsMultitouch: 10 touch sensor

N. Battery Life

Xperia S implanted battery 1750mAh capacity which is quite large. But that does not mean the phone battery consumption will be immediately efficient, we feel the battery consumption is quite large, this may be caused by the use of processor 1.5 GHz dual-core and a screen that has a high brightness level. Xperia's battery which we try to start with a content of 80% and decreased to 20% in the review process is intense during the first 7 hours. We expect to normal everyday use with an active data packet may Xperia S can last about 13-14 hours.

* Resilience depends on how the use, condition the signal, at room temperature and other factors.

O. Conclusion

Sony Xperia S it's very reasonable priced at 5.5 million dollars and this is very much worthy of your choice. Very nice design and a host of advanced technologies embedded into the main selling points of this phone. Plus the camera on this phone has excellent quality to capture images or record video. Performance is quite fast and lag free. Xperia S has full connectivity to support your activities. Unfortunately the LED-backlit screen Xperia S looks a little yellowish and not equipped with good quality speakers.

Pros:

720p HD screen and sharp
High brightness levels
Bravia Engine is very powerful for multimedia
Xperia S 12 MP camera is very good
Good design
Good overall performance
Complete connectivity

Shortage

Screen slightly yellowish
Audio quality is not good
Battery less wasteful

Sony SGPT111US/S Wi-Fi Tablet (16GB)
Sony Brings it's Classy Design Experience to the Tablet, September 28, 2011
By Martin "apartoflife" (Tucson, AZ) -
This review is from: Sony SGPT112US/S Wi-Fi Tablet (32GB) (Personal Computers)

I pre-ordered my Tablet through the Sony website and have had the tablet for nearly two weeks. I have to say... Sony was way behind on the tablet market but it was worth the wait. I'll break down my review in catergories.... Looks/functionality ,Performance, Software, Features and Value. Each Break Down will be valued in Five Stars.

Looks/ functionality- 5/5 This tablet like everything Sony makes is Classy looking and unique. Initially prior to getting my hands on it and looking at pics, the wedge shape rubbed me the wrong way but once you see it in person it does ad to the class and uniqueness. But the wedge shape is not for looks alone, it is truly is functional. My brother owns both Ipads and I have to say after playing with both this is the most comfortable tablet out there thanks to the wedge shape. It ads perfect balance to when you are holding it with one hand or if it's on your lap, it has a perfect angle. Some people say it's a gimick but I am here to say, it is truly comfortable to hold this light tablet. Also, it was a bit smaller than what I imagined when I finally got this in my hands. For some reason pics made it look bigger than it really is. Thankfully this includes the wedge part which is not as thick as it looks in the pics. As a matter of fact, trying get to the SD slot located on the wedge is a bit of a pain. Thankfully they added the most common and cheapest form of memory the standard SD card which allows you to expand memory. My Tablet is the 32 gb version so I don't need much but it's nice to have my video and music on the SD card. The Tablet allows you to play video and music from the SD card which is awesome. This tablet comes with limited physical buttons. Just the power and volume rockers. The speakers sound great dispite some reviews I have heard, if you are an audiophile simply put on the ear phones!

The Screen is amazing. Though not gorilla glass it has higher resolution than the Ipad and with the slightly smaller screen, resolution pops and is crisp. The tru black on the screen makes for a wonderful viewing screen. can't stop staring at the home wall paper it came with! The back has a grip like plastic which helps imensely when holding it but does have a bit of a plasticky feel. The IPAD has a more solid heavy feel to it but that's not necessarily a good thing when you are holding it for long periods of time. This Tablet is the hands down the most Unique out there and managed to keep a very classy look while making it functional at the same time. Awesome design and look!

Performance- 5/5 This tablet comes with the top of the line nvidia dual core tegra processor and it shows when I'm flying through web pages. It can even handle viewing streaming HD movies through the Amazon website! In order to do this I have to start and pause the movie and wait. After five minutes it streams perfectly! That says a lot about the processor. The touch screen is also very responsive and programs pop up extremley quick. Every program runs smooth and quickly, no complaints in this department.

Software- 4/5 This was a hard to rate. I will start with the good... Sony is notorious for adding bloatware but this time every app and program that came with tablet was useful and they did not overload it with programs. I love the remote sensor which works awesome though I do own all Sony TV's in the house so it was seemless. The only thing I wish I could do is control my PS3 with the RM sensor but I would think that is because it doesn't have one. DNLA has been glitchy, sometimes it detects my sony tv's and pc's but sometimes it doesnt. I wont rate that since I have not messed around with it too much yet. The Music and Media gallery apps are truly spectacular and beautiful looking. Thankfully, the Music app also comes with equalizer. The music app has a great graphical interface where you can play with your music as if it is all in the floor in your bedroom. You can toggle the animations off too. The main reason I had to give this a 4 is not because of Sony's software but because of lack of Tablet optimized apps out there. A market for tablet apps is virtually non existent. Nothing but about 20 goofy games a sprinkle of regular apps. This is where the ipad shines... they rule the tablet app market right now and everyone is falling over themeselves making apps for the ipad but ignoring android. Hopefully this will be rectified with ICE CREAM which is supposed to optomise all apps for use in both phones and tablets. Until then, the web browser on this tablet totally saves it. Speaking of the web browser... it is super fast! as I said before... I was able to run an HD movie without glitches from the browser! I suppose one can say who needs apps! The Browser has the ability to run all wesbites in full desktop mode and thanks to flash, there is virtually no difference between this tablet and a pc other than lack of keyboard. I surf exclusively on my tablet now and only use my PC for word processing, heavy photo editing, and gaming.

Features 5/5- Probably one of my favorite things about this is the inclusion of the IR RM sensor allowing me to control all of my tv. I even hooked up my entertainment system to it and found it much easier to navigate on the tablet. Very simple addition to a tablet but funny how important it is once you have it. The addition of the front and back facing cameras was also thoughtful and ahead of Ipad. The camera quality is nothing to write home about but it does the job for skyping. As I said before, the wedge was suprisingly useful and I would also call it a feature by making this the most comfortable tablet I have ever held. The playstation certification is a big plus but the gaming center as well as the unlimited music and video service are not running yet but the potential is great.

Value 4/5- Though this tablet is expensive, I don't find the price too outrageous given how great this tablet is. Where they really screw you is the accessories. I ended up getting every accessory sony offered which I still recommend but the cost ends up being too high. If you do get any accessory, I would recommend the Dock. Super easy to slip on and holds the tablet in all it's beauty.

This all being said, this a five star tablet. Highly recommended if you have the money. You won't be sorry... truly happy with my new Tablet :) I would dare say despite the lack of tablet apps, this is better than the Ipad 2. I have no doubt the 3rd incarnation will beat this when it comes out but till then, this is the best out there right now in my opinion.

PS- On a side note, a lot of talk about the lack of 3g connectivity. This will happen in the coming months with the release of 3g enabled tablets and unfortunately, AT&T is once gain the provider. Given that I already have an Android phone which I tether to my tablet on rare ocassions when no wifi is available, I see no reason to get the 3g version and pay even more. In my situation, I happen to have an unlocked version of android which I tether to my tablet for no charge! This is not commmon, normally you have to pay extra for the ability to tether on AT &T. That makes no sense at all and is a total rip-off but even if I would have to pay extra I would do it rather than having a seperate extra bill. Just thought I would put that out there.

Review
For this very reasonable price of this computer, you get an amazing notebook computer. I replaced the standard hard drive with a Samsung solid state drive and this computer runs almost completely silently now. This is my first AMD-based notebook and I can say that I'm a fan now. The main processor and video card work great. Don't waste your money on a netbook using a weak Intel chip or buy an Apple Ipad. For just a little more money buy a real computer like this one. This computer is very well made and is very fast.

REVIEW

With the fastest processor i7 and lots of other upgrades. It's a fantastic machine. The huge screen will take a couple of days getting used to and it wasn't evident how to adjust brightness (it's in the Vaio Manual), but once made less bright, it's been an absolute pleasure to work with. The image is super crisp and so beautiful. I can't wait to watch some Bluray films on it. Also, installing my programs has been a total breeze: it's really fast, you can tell when the turbo mode kicks in as the fan behind the screen will be a bit louder (but not a nuisance loud though, so no worries) and it's just very powerful.

The only thing I wish is that the screen could have been adjustable up or down. Now it's at a set level from the desk. Yes, you can tilt it, but that doesn't lower it and I like most of my screen to be at or below my eye level. Now it's a bit higher since it's such a big screen. The keyboard is good but seems a bit 'fragile' in comparison to the quality of the monitor. Still, it's fine and the mouse as well. Oh, and the monitor is pretty thin and doesn't heat up a lot at all, even though it houses the fastest processor all in the back, so really happy with the 'compact' space it takes on my desk. All in all, I would highly recommend it.

It's maybe not the cheapest one out there, but you get so much more for your money and I'm looking for years of enjoyment with this Vaio desktop.

Sony MDR7506 Professional Large Diaphragm Headphone

Sony MDR7506 Professional Large Diaphragm Headphone

Sony MDR7506 Professional Large Diaphragm Headphone

If you've read down far enough to find this review, you probably already know that these are the professional studio monitor headphones used by pretty much anyone with a mixing board - from Celine Dion to Slipknot, from NFL broadcasts to The Howard Stern Show, these are the way most recording artists and studios hear every note and nuance. If you're not already convinced, read on.

Most new 7506 owners are awed by their headphones before even hearing them, at least by the packaging. The headphones themselves rest on gently tousled silver silk behind a clear plastic window emblazoned with a large gold "7506". The presentation alone gives the potential buyer the feel of buying a giant engagement ring, but the theatrics end once you open the box. Getting down to business inside is a very serious schematic diagram documenting the complete parts and assembly list of the fifty or so pieces that go into making this single pair of headphones, a 1/8" to 1/4" adapter (the screw-on type, a must for live use), and a pleather carrying pouch.

The 7506s are visually almost an anti-climax to the packaging. The design is very basic and straightforward without any tricks or frills, but simplicity is part of the appeal here. Every detail has been engineered to work simply and simply work. The steel band size adjustment snicks into place confidently at each numbered groove. Both earcups rotate vertically a full 180 degrees on their hinges with ease. The 1/8" plug has an all-metal casing with a real rubber sleeve, as you'd find on actual pro audio music cables. The more deeply you look into each element of the design, the more you'll appreciate how much Sony also looked into it.

Putting on the 7506s is also an easy affair, thanks to their eight ounce weight and modest profile. They're actually small enough that you could get away with wearing them in public, but you wouldn't hear much else - the closed design combined with cushy stuffed vinyl pads and secure, if not tailored, fit means the ambient sound isolation borders on noise-cancelling. The earcups can also be folded upwards against the inside of the headband for portability - so portable in fact, that you could place a folded set of 7506s in a child's lunchbox *with room to spare*.

But if ever a good thing came in a small package, it's the big sound of these headphones. Ruler flat response, deep sound stage, and sniper tight accuracy means every aspect of the source signal comes to life and is revealed in full. Bass notes come through with such authority that you find yourself occasionally making note of your feet, to see if you can feel the bass in the floor. Instrument placement is at once obvious - parsing out where each instrument and sound is in a mix is instantly clear. Previously hidden and obscure sounds and passages in various tracks stand out so well that entire songs are made new again. There just isn't any sound that the 7506s can't reproduce exactly as you'd hear it with your own ears.

Those of you who like to tailor your sound with extra helpings of bass or volume have also been accommodated - On the low end, using even the most basic bass boost the 7506s can faithfully reproduce subwoofers-in-the-trunk neighborhood-wide bass *in your head*. I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't heard it myself. Volume-wise, a low impedance matched with a high power handing capacity means these headphones are easily driven by an iPod or Walkman, yet can easily achieve volume levels that could liquefy your inner ear without even the implication of distorting. Plainly speaking, whatever you want the 7506s to do, they'll do it with ease.

Keep in mind that revealing everything requires a good source. Plugging these into a cheaper portable or poorly EQ'd equipment will quickly make any and all limitations evident. This includes cheap computer audio hardware and low frequency/bandwidth MP3s. Uncompressed file formats suddenly seem a lot more practical when you can hear the constraints of highly compressed MP3s.

"Audiophile" sites and reviews have had a hard time coming to grips with these headphones. Being that they're a consumer brand product available at any common music store at a fraction of the price of most other high-end models, the "elite" image and price tag that goes along with it just aren't a part of the 7506's game. It's reflected in some reviews, some saying they're "too bassy", others "too bright", but how exactly is this possible if you're using a decent source and the same headphones the musicians/engineers used to create the recording? You're hearing the music exactly as it was heard in the studio, exactly as it was meant to be heard. Only the 7506s can make that promise.

If you're creating any kind of recordings and find yourself crossing your fingers that you're hearing it as it's actually being recorded, or just a music lover who feels it's time to hear the music as it was meant to be heard, you're only a hundred dollars away from the Sony MDR-7506. Five stars and my highest recommendation to Sony's masterpiece.

Photographing with the Sony Alpha, Like a Pro

Photographing with the Sony Alpha, Like a Pro

Technosian - Sony Indonesia serious in the competitive DSLR type of digital camera products. This is further demonstrated by the issuance of new generation digital SLR camera products that Alpha 55 and Alpha 33.Alpha 55 and Alpha 33 can be said is a product that looks more compact but has the amenities that make users can produce photos that are not less good.
"Alpha 55 and Alpha 33 carry the latest technology from Sony. Equipped with Mirror Traslucent technology, present a variety of new functions that were previously quite difficult to be presented on a DSLR camera," says Danu Sagoro, Product Marketing Sony Alpha Digital Imaging in Media Gathering event, in Taman Impian Jaya Ancol, North Jakarta, Wednesday (02/23/2011).

This product is replacing a mirror box which is used in conventional digital SLR cameras with a mirror box that contains a translucent mirror, so that is no longer needed a mirror that opens the lid as used in DSLR cameras today. In other words, the object can be recorded by the image sensor and sensor auto focus without having to wait for the mirror lifted each pressing the camera shutter.

With this technology, users can capture an object moving at ten frames per second recording (Sony Alpha 55) and seven frames per second (Sony Alpha 33). Translucent Mirror technology is maximized with fifteen points focus on the sensor. Making these products can operate with a stable auto focus function that quickly and accurately when doing Full HD movie recording.

Sony Alpha 55 and Alpha 33 uses APS Exmor HD CMOS sensor as the image sensor. It can capture images up to 16.2 megapixels at 55 and 14.2-megapixel Alpha on Alpha 33. This sensor makes the two products could reduce noise while using a high ISO.
One of the facilities that can be used to reduce noise is a multi-frame automatic, where the camera is recording the object with six frames at once and then combine them into one frame. Kompas.com the chance to try out this facility to get the images with very little noise even when using ISO 25 600.

Camera Alpha 55 and Alpha 33 is also equipped with facilities AUTO + in which the camera can analyze the object and shooting conditions. So photographers need not fear getting the picture that is too dark (under exposure) or too bright (over exposure).

"To meet the needs of users of the Sony Alpha cameras. We also have complete supporting accessories like a telephoto lens, wide, and the fish eye," says Danu Sagoro. From the search results Kompas.com, special lens Sony Alpha DSLR camera is quite varied. It could even be said complete with varied options.
