Great iPhone docking station for the office

There are plenty iPhone docking stations out there and some are quite expensive... so why not add a radio to it and a device from which you can easily use the iPhone as well?

Here were the criteria I went by:

1. Below $100
2. Easy to use Radio docking station
3. Slick design to put on my desk - not too big but yet suitiable to put on the desk with decent sound quality
4. While listening to music from the iPhone the music should stop playing so that I can take a call AND after the call is over I want to get the music to be turned back on where it stopped
5. Easy to use the iPhone from the docking station to dial numbers without breaking anything (most of the docking stations are a bit clunky when you try to put in the iPhone and then try to call people - you always have to use two hands to ensure the iPhone doesnt break anything on the docking connection).

After using it for a few weeks now all of the creteria are met in my opinion.

My biggest liking is actually how easy I can plug my iPhone into the radio docking station and can actually use the phone, look up contacts, do calls, etc with just one hand. Since it is right next to me I can simply use one hand to operate this little device. Unfortunatley (and I hope to see this feature in the future) the radio speakers are not turned on when someone calls... but I have the staion in arms length and the iPone speaeker do a good job or alternatlively I use the headset.

Also I use the iPhone as a wireless radio and with the iPhone in the docking station it becomes my wirelss radio so to speak. I have Pandora and other online radion service through the Apps provided by Apple. And in that instance the speakers do work!
And if I dont want to listen to internet or online radion stations I can easily switch with one button (the source button) to either an external MP3 Player, or the local FM radio stations.

The sound is quite descent but don't expect an super stereo and deep bass experience. But you can always attach bigger speakers later if you like.

So overall for $80 you get a stylish looking docking station for the iPhone and you can making calls from it, listening to online or local radion stations while charging your iPhone at the same time.

Like alot of people I have been disappointed in way laptop makers have poor built in speakers. When looking for ad on speakers, there is not alot of choices for laptop/notebook speakers. I purchased these 2 weeks ago. They stay securely softly clipped to my 17 in HP laptop they have rubber grips to keep them from scratching, or sliding down your screen edge. Easy to clip and unclip onto the side of the screen edges.

Instructions are not correct in the setup. Company says once you plug in its auto configures and loads the microsoft drivers, which it does , but then it does NOT auto pic them to start playback with these once they are plugged in. I plugged in to the usb port, windows 7 loaded the drivers but I had to manually go in to the system, Windows, control panel, then sounds,where you will see available speaker, headphones etc. pick the usb speakers and select these speakers for the default speakers. Once I did that, they worked like a dream.

You might have to reboot, but I did not have too. These speakers greatly increased the sound output of my HP pavilion dv7 laptop. These are great digital amplified speakers. Bass is not the best, but you can hear a beat, and sure beats the onboard laptop speakers hands down. These things are loud for laptop speakers. If your listening to music on itunes or watching a netflix movie you wont miss a word. I can hear these babies play at 50 percent of windows power and go to the kitchen or bathroom and hear it.

You also will have to use the itunes equalizer to adjust the sound. but even without the equalizer it sounds great. I did not notice any distortion, but dont crank them all the way up, you might blow them, although i doubt you could, I preferred not to try. But these speakers get very loud even below 75 percent of the volume selection.

Would be nice if the bass was a little more , but cant expect that from small speakers. I gave it 4 stars cause it has a flimsy tiny thin little cord, which could be easily pinched or frayed. The maker could improve the product, and make it with a cord at least 3 times thicker, and it be more durable. Also I have to undo the bond of the two channel ply cord so that the right channel side would be long enough to reach where it needed to be. since I had to use the usb on the left side. I would buy again.

250w Motorcycle 2 speakers + FM splash proof remote Shark

Overall this is a good product if you want sounds on a motorcycle. I installed it on a Vstar 1300 with a windshield. This stereo sounds great in my garage, but seems to show some sound issues once I begin to ride. There isn't a lot of bass and the sound is really muffled above 75. But to be fair, it can be heard all the way up to 90mph. If your travelling at 90mph on a cruiser style motorcycle you really shouldn't be worrying about the radio anyway. One issue that I did encounter at any speed was that if the source (phone/mp3 player/ipod) was charging while playing through the amp and speakers there was a fair amount of humming through the speakers. Unplugging the source immediatly cured that. Because I am using a phone for the music/navigation I was able to eliminate the auxilary wire by using a bluetooth device. (Jabra Clipper paired to the phone and plugged into the amp)This also eliminated the humming. Remember this is a $120.00 system, so I can forgive a few drawbacks that I wouldn't have with a $300 system. One last note, if you purchase this and intend on mounting it on your handlebars you have to purchase seperate clips, I believe they are available through the same retailer for about $15.00. I found a way around this by mounting them to my speedo housing, which placed the speakers inside the windshield, which I assume lessons the wind interference. Overall I would recomend these as a bargain system. but again to be fair, I have not tryed any other system, so a $300-$400 system may have the same wind issues and humming. Gooddeals18 was awesome to deal with, answered a question promptly and had the product on my doorstep the day before the delivery window that was set by Amazon.
